WORKSHOP RATES
Today's workplace demands that employees be effective communicators who are able to collaborate with a team of diverse individuals to solve multi-faceted problems. We believe that integrated project-based learning is an educational model that can prepare students to be successful in this new and complex environment.
But it requires that teachers learn new skills, too. It isn't enough to come up with a great problem to solve. Integrated project-based learning requires that teachers model processes such as academic discussions, consensus building, and professional presentation skills. It requires that teachers learn how to write and use analytical rubrics to evaluate student work, and, more importantly, guide students as they learn to do the same. Teachers must learn to cultivate a classroom culture of continuous improvement, and grow students who have habits of mind such as grit, perseverance, and resilience--all qualities of individuals who will be able to meet the challenges of the world beyond school.
Intentionality. Integrated PBL doesn't just happen because it's a great idea and a powerful model. It happens because great teachers have the tools to help students construct their own knowledge, and the confidence to guide them as they dive deep to meet high expectations for knowing and learning. We can help them fill their tool boxes.
